For years I have dreamed about traveling the world, but have always felt a little bit guilty that I have never explored my own country that has so much to offer. So before I booked my next international adventure I made a point to go and visit the United States most famous attractions. One of those being VEGAS BABY!
Now I am not much of a gambler, in fact I learned how to play back jack only a day before we landed in Sin City. Of course I had to give it a try while I was there and it was a blast! After my first night I was up $40, so for being such a newbie I was definitely pumped. Shortly after that I had lost the $40 that I had won and ended up breaking even for the weekend.. not too shabby.
While gambling is a big part of coming to Vegas, while I was there I set out to find some awesome non gambling activities and Vegas did not disappoint.
Here are 7 awesome things to do in Vegas if you are not a gambler.
1. The High Roller
This ferris wheel is tucked back on the cutest side street between Harrah’s and the Flamingo Hotel. It offers incredible views of the city and to top it off there is a bar in the pod so you can enjoy a drink as you go around.

2. The Neon Museum
A walking tour takes you through a boneyard of of hotel and casino signs. This place is great for photos and if you’re into learning about the history of Vegas the guide will tell you everything you need to know about your favorite casinos back in the day. I walked through the museum during the day but they also offer night tours with the signs lit up. Make sure to make a reservation!
3. Slotzilla Zip Line
After you check out the Neon Museum, head over to downtown! Not only is it the original townsite (before the strip) it is home to Slotzilla an almost 2,000 foot zipline that flies you Superman style down Fremont Street 114 feet in the air!
4. See a Show
This one seems obvious since Las Vegas is known for its performances, but make sure to squeeze in some time to see a magic show!
5. Roller Coasters and Rides
New York - New York and the Stratosphere are a good place to go if you are looking to get away from the slot machines. Although let me preface this by saying I am a roller coaster fanatic, but even the rides on top of the stratosphere were too much for me to even attempt. We opted for the Big Apple Coaster and stayed away from “Insanity” the appropriately named ride that hangs you 64 feet over the edge of the building and 900 feet from the ground!!

6. The Seven Magic Mountains
About a 20 minute drive outside of the city you can find these brightly colored stacked boulders that stand out against the mountains. It’s actually an art installation that will only be there until 2018 and they were incredible to see. The best part? It was free!

7. The Famous Las Vegas Sign
And last but not least, you can’t go to Vegas and not take a picture with Las Vegas’ most famous welcome sign! There will be a line to snap a pic, but it will move fast and is totally worth it!
